MOVE-IN DAY
Welcome to Cadelle, cuddlers! The city is — for the most part, at least — very happy with the first wave of volunteers who have chosen to spend time here! To help everyone get settled a little easier, Mayor Drake and her team have put together a series of helpful booths, each staffed by friendly citizen volunteers who are more than ready to answer any questions characters may have.
▸ First things first: visitors will need to visit City Hall to officially enroll as a Cadelle citizen. Once complete, they'll receive their Welcome Packet, which will include all of the most important items for settling in. Characters will find keys to their apartment and associated mail box, their housing assignment, and their pre-activated CuddleCard, ready to go. In addition, the volunteer coordinators have included a newly printed map of the city, as well as contact information for various city-run organizations, just in case!
▸ Due to the influx of energy from all of the new visitors, the city’s computer systems have been experiencing some "minor hiccups". While this is nothing to be concerned about, characters may find themselves mildly inconvenienced — they may have received keys that don’t work in their door, or been issued someone else's room assignment unknowingly!
▸ If they've arrived during regular business hours, characters are, of course, able to visit the maintenance office on the first floor of each building for help switching out their mismatched keys or determining their correct assignment. However, getting settled after hours will require a little extra creative problem solving — like asking a new friend if sharing a bed for the night seems reasonable, sleeping on the couches in the public lounges downstairs, or maybe even roughing it for the night outdoors. (Of course, there's always the frowned-upon methods of breaking and entering... not that you heard it from us!)
▸ As with any move-in day, there’s bound to be lots to see and do. Characters may need help carrying their things, or even just help finding their way around. If they're lucky enough to find their room without problem, they may not be so lucky in their assignment. They may find themselves living underneath someone who's got to be part elephant (who stomps that much at 6 AM?!) or just above someone who insists on burning every batch of popcorn they make! Get out there, meet the neighbors, and see what this city has to offer!
CITY SCAVENGER HUNT
A few days after the big move-in weekend, characters will find an unread message on their CuddlePhone, encouraging them to check out the CuddleTalk network for a very special message from two very special guests. When they do, they’ll find a cute (but admittedly very cheesy) video message from Cadelle’s volunteer coordinators, Flora and Cornelius. The video highlights a few of the most popular destinations in the city — Blaze Pizza, for example, the home of the ninety-second wood-fired pizza, or Dinah’s, where you can enjoy a literal bucket of fries perfect for sharing.
At the end of the video, a link will come up for characters to click if they are so inclined. They’ll be directed to a sign-up page for a city-wide scavenger hunt, with a grand prize promised for the first team to complete the challenge.
Want to participate?
▸ Characters will be able to sign up for the scavenger hunt either on their own or with a friend. (The prizes remain the same regardless of the size of the team, so if your character wants all the money for themselves, they'll either want to race it alone or pick a very generous teammate!)
▸ Among the many delicious dining destinations around Cadelle, characters will discover three venues that the volunteer coordinators have tapped as their current favorites. Somewhere in those three venues, characters will find a beautiful framed photo of Flora and Cornelius.
▸ When characters find the photo, they'll be instructed to take their best selfie, being sure to capture themselves, the framed snapshot, and their teammate (if they chose to bring one along) in the shot.
▸ The first group to send in all three selfies will win the grand prize — one month's stipend worth of extra CuddleBucks! However, all competitors who complete the challenge will be rewarded with a token of appreciation — one week's stipend worth of CuddleBucks, just for playing along!
▸ While characters explore the city, they just might find some "bonus" surprises along the way. Keep your eyes peeled!

(Diana has never lived in a place quite like Cadelle; her flat in Paris is fairly quiet and the hustle and bustle of move in at her building is something she's never seen before. It is almost like a tour group at the Louvre gone horribly awry and she isn't certain how to make heads or tails of it. She has her welcome packet in hand and it doesn't take her that long to find her accommodations in the Alpha Building so now she's trying to help others find their way. She neatly dodges someone, offering a smile when it appears they're lost.)
Are you having trouble finding your room? I could help, possibly, if you have your welcome packet and your key.
(Diana isn't one to stand idly by when there's things to be done and when she isn't helping someone navigate the building, she's helping to move things, shift furniture, or even take photographs for those who have chosen to go on the scavenger hunt.)

I wished to keep my family safe. My son, Jon...he's had a rough time of it recently. His powers are coming in and- {Kal grimaces.} It's made him a bit of a target. How about you? What brought you here?

(Diana cannot express to him what happened, exactly, because this is not her version of Kal-El. This is not the one she'd seen fighting Doomsday and sacrificing himself for the good of Earth. Still, he looks similar enough that she sets her chin and knows that she's made the right decision; she has to keep the world safe.)

When he did, he was the type to ask. Otherwise, he preferred to handle things on his own. As it was, Bruce was the farthest thing from lost in that moment. He'd found his room, down a quick sweep of the space, and since then, he'd spent his time getting a feel for the rest of the city - staring with the residential area.
During his explorations, he'd spotted the woman a number of times. From a distance, he recognized a number of her features as someone from home. But the lines of her face were different, something just the slightest bit off about her hair, and her eyes were no where near the same color he was used to seeing. It meant another name to add to his list of Justice League members from another universe.
When he caught sight of her a third time, he played his part well. When they stepped around each other and she turned to speak to him, he found himself mentally comparing her to the Diana of his own world. )
I've already found my room, Diana. ( There was a calm recognition to his voice, the way someone might respond to a friend rather than a stranger. ) Do you have some time to spare?

the hair doesn't have grey at the temples. He's close enough that Diana can recognize him and know him as friend and comrade at arms but he is certainly not her
Bruce. Still, just as Kal-El had not been her version, she'd found him similar enough not to notice the differences; some things across the universe seem to never change.
Diana draws closer to him, though, careful to keep her voice low in case Bruce wants to confide in her some sort of secret that's not meant for public consumption. While subterfuge isn't her favorite currency, it's one she knows how to utilize when necessary.)
I have all the time in the world for you, Bruce. Is there somewhere you'd like to go?

He straightened a bit as she stepped closer, and out of habit, his eyes shifted away from her and across their surroundings. A place like this wasn't inherently dangerous, but failing to prepare was preparing to fail as far as Bruce was concerned. )
Walk with me. ( Bruce offered smoothly in response, eyes shifting back towards her and his lips curving just the smallest bit in an expression that was just shy of being a smile. Something meant to reassure in its own way as he extended one hand, motioning for her to walk with him. )

[His gaze seemed penetrating, especially now that he didn't wear his glasses while in Cadelle; there was no point after all, not when he didn't have an identity to hide.]

[He gestures to the door of the building they were in. It wasn't like he was afraid of her, despite her prowess of a warrior. He was more afraid of how he might feel talking to her.]

(Diana nods, a small shake of her head and tilt of her chin. She wants to be somewhere private to discuss this so long as Kal-El wants to and she follows him to the door, pushing it open. Old habits die hard, it seems, and while the world might want her to be a lady, she's an Amazon first.)
