CHARACTERS: Gamora & YOU
LOCATIONS: B-Sides, city at large
WARNINGS: None yet
SUMMARY: Catch-all for Gamora while I get impatient waiting for December.
Employment was a new experience for Gamora. Well, employment that first required staying in one city, and then required staying in one place of business. After exploring she had opted for B-Sides. The store specialised in music and what better place to continue the education Quill had started? It made her feel a little at home, like she was still on the Milano listening to his mixed tapes.
Of course it was becoming more and more evident that Peter had missed out on quite a few years of music since leaving Earth. The store was filled with so much for Gamora to discover. The former assassin was standing behind the counter in a Bowie t-shirt and her leather pants, her hair tied back to keep it out of the way as she waited until there was no one to watch while she moved to the music.
When she wasn't at work, she was continuing the culinary adventure that Magnus had started her on with Thai Food. He was right, there really were a lot of choices when it came to Earth food. Next on her list was Paco's Tacos.
Her restlessness might have also gotten the better of her while she tried to familiarise herself with the city and not feel too lonely. She missed Quill. She missed the other Guardians. And maybe she missed the fighting. It was what she had been trained for, what she had been built for. So anything that demanded an exertion of energy was a plus. She might not have her sword, but she didn't need it. She could still punch, and kick, and possibly destroy a few dummies and targets at any establishment that offered a chance to make sure her skills didn't become rusty even after only a few days.
( ooc: as always will match brackets or prose, prose just keeps being my default for starters, soz.
if you don’t want to catch her at b-sides, feel free to catch her elsewhere in the city. she’s got a few things on her list of terran experiences to check off – exploring various cuisines, deja brew, good times, the drive-in (sans car… lol), conch cove etc etc.
kindofabigdeal if you want to plot specifics, or want me to write the starter. )

She was still swaying, feeling the rhythm of the music. When Magnus was close enough she moved out from behind the counter and joined him in the dancing. "Quill had one of his songs. I liked it very much. You knew him?" Her eyes widened a little. Peter had never known any of the bands personally. "You really are full of surprises, aren't you?"

When she gets close enough, he reaches out to take her hand and spins her once, just to see how happy she is about dancing with someone, versus just next to someone. "I knew him very well," he says with a fond sigh. "I hadn't seen him in years, but during the Seventies, yes. Very well." There's a little smirk in his smile now. "I've been around long enough to have known some interesting people."

And the fact that she was dancing with him. Gamora spins easily, it beginning to show that she was more adept at dancing with someone and not just next to them. Her hand found Magnus' shoulder when she was close enough and her feet moved a little more than just the swaying of moments ago. "You really are an interesting man, aren't you?" Gamora's smile was fond. "And not just an expert in food and magic. I hope you will tell me all your stories."

Once her hand finds his shoulder he rests his hand on her waist and spins them both, laughing. "I have a lot of stories, I'd be delighted, but only if you tell me yours," he counters. "Over new, delicious food, listening to new, delicious music. Is it a deal?"
no subject
Gamora spun with him before she smiled again. Her tongue ran over her lips briefly before she raised her brow. "There's that place, ah, Bruschetta. I keep walking past it when I finish work and I haven't yet tried it. I think it said it did Italian. Is that good?"
no subject
And when Somebody to Love is over, he looks over the playlist and puts on Somebody to Love by Queen. "Bloodshed, really. Well, I have a few stories like that. What time are you finished with work?" He spins her again and dips her, just for fun. "I'll wander by and we'll put Bruschetta through its paces."
no subject
She watched him change the music, curious as to what he could put on. Then she understood the link in the chorus. "I like this song." Her smile grew again and she may have even laughed when he dipped her. "I hope not too much bloodshed in your stories. I find it hard to believe anyone would not like you."

He sweeps up a pad of paper and a pen and writes down a few more choice titles of Queen songs, recommendations for her to play through the afternoon to continue her education. He's always been biased in favor of Queen, but Freddie had been such a delight. "There you are, that ought to keep you busy. Optional, of course, but if you're in the mood to explore," he says as he hands her the paper with a flourish. "I'll see you at five, then?"
no subject
She gave him a smile as she shrugged slightly. "Compliments are given when earned. I find you good company. If someone else doesn't then they better hope they don't meet me. Thank you for the list, I'll tell you my favourite at dinner. Do I need to tell you to stay out of trouble until then, or encourage you to find it?"
no subject
"Oh, stop." He cups his cheek with one hand as if to stop a blush from rising, then shrugs elaborately. "That's up to you, but if history repeats itself, I'll find it anyway. And then tell you about it at dinner." And with a wave and a grin, he strides out of the shop, first to walk until he spots Bruschetta and has a look at the menu, and then back to his original task of gathering spell ingredients. Honestly, a shop would be so much easier.
