1/ open / there's nothing left to be afraid of, not any more

CHARACTERS: Kate Galloway & maybe you who knows.
LOCATIONS: Good Vibrations / The Deviant / Sucker Punch
WARNINGS: Talk of death, too much drinking and a whole lot of sadness.
SUMMARY: October shenanigans, featuring a lot of trying to drink away the pain.

one/ stressing, there's a danger in the wreckage
⇨ good vibrations / open.
( Drinking yourself into a hangover that lasts the whole work day is generally not recommended - just some friendly advice for those who may think that this is a good idea. As far as Kate's concerned... well, let's just say she didn't follow this advice, but thank god it's only retail that she has to stumble her way through, swallowing aspirin without water and trying not to glower at the door any time it opens (or, more accurately, after it swings shut, thundering through her head).

If you happen to be in the market for sex toys, however, you're in the right place, because Good Vibrations holds everything to make your dreams come true, even if the short woman behind the till is giving out anything but good vibrations at this particular moment in time.

The sigh she makes before speaking is audible, as though she'd rather be doing anything else, but ideally throwing up in her bathroom would be great.
)

Y'need a hand?

( So to speak. )

two/ bound to crumble if you let it - a tug of war
⇨ the deviant / open.
( Music pounding through the floor, shivering up the spine. It's an easy place to get lost in the moment, a drink in hand and thoughts drowned into nothingness. She's one among the many, an anonymous face in the crowd -

It feels hollow, but the beat washes away anything that isn't the bassline with a smooth segue from one song to the next and Kate loses herself in the easy sway of hips and stepping in time until her drink runs dry, at which point she slips through the crowd to get a refill. Feel free to talk to her (or buy her a drink, she won't mind that, either), or simply start dancing with her once she hits the floor again.

Or hell, maybe she's stood on your foot while dancing. Booze isn't the best thing for your coordination, especially under flashing lights.
)

three/ let it rain down on me
⇨ sucker punch / open.
( Try as one might, it's not exactly easy to drink away an entire month on a retail working budget. Rents still have to be paid and Kate still needs Cadelle to fulfil her wish. But she's on a hair trigger temper, the city itself feeling too small and all too large at the same time - it's not home and it never will be. She's all too alone, torn away from her people in order to fix her mistakes.

And the spookier the city gets in celebration of whatever the fuck Samhain is, the more she feels it.

So sometimes, the only answer is Sucker Punch, with punching bags and sparring partners galore. Beating the hell out of something sounds far more relaxing than waking up with yet another hangover, anyway. She drills punches into a bag with faster speed than should be possible, again and again until her muscles ache and she stops for a drink of water and a stretch.
)

Feel like sparrin'?

( The punching bag was therapeutic and all, but grappling sounds better. )
