Again, Derek's eyebrows lift as she starts to chatter nervously at him and he can't help the snort that escapes in his effort to keep from laughing when she tells him that he has a 'really fantastic face,' because really...that's a compliment he can honestly say he's never heard before in that particular way. The grin on his face only seems to widen as she goes on until she vows to stop talking and suggests he pretend he hadn't met her.
At that, the expression drops and he shakes his head. "Hey, no...it's okay, seriously. You're fine," he promises. "That was cute, actually, whatever that was," he adds wth a smirk. "If talking to you is always like this, I'd prefer not to pretend I never met you and definitely don't want you to stop talking."
Derek holds his hand out to her then, the smirk softening into something more genuine and less amused. "I'm Derek."
