( She got her wish. At least, that's what they said. Kate skipped straight from one offer to another, a knot of anxiety in her stomach that there's some unwritten part of her original deal that will leave her unable to do anything when she goes home, that writes off the months in the city of Eudio because she didn't use the right words or something equally petty. Enter: Cadelle, offering another adventure like before, if you define adventure as anything entirely unlike your daily life. Another city that asks for nothing more than some attempts at doing the nice thing. The right thing.

It's another mission. Just one more hurdle to jump before things are right again.

One more hurdle... and a shit-ton of bureaucracy.

Kate's as noticable for her hair - near-fluroescent pink falling to her waist (probably less impressive when you note she's all of 5'3") - as she is the sheer energy with which she buzzes. Never quite still while she's in the queue, her foot taps restlessly or she shifts from side to side, biting back sighs of irritation as the clock ticks.

C'mon...

( Talking to the counter by the clock, trying to will it to flick through the next ten numbers or so, is definitely going to work, right? )

( Moving in can be less than eventful when the sum of your city possessions are the clothes with which you arrived. Or, more accurately, when your key doesn't work for your apartment at all and the city hall's closed by the time you find out that. Not the best start to a new life, not by far.

Kate's feet take her around the city while she tries to figure out what to do about it. So far the winner is keep walking until it's time for city hall to open again. She's a superhuman, and no stranger to sleepless nights. Just keep moving, which is what she's best at. Keep going until the sun rises over the city and the tide shifts-

There's something about the beach that's like a magnetic pull, where things seem endless. If Kate could fly, she could spring into the air and go anywhere. It's why she loves the rooftops back home so much. The space, the views that go on for miles. And the fact that it's way easier to traverse a busy city from up above than it is on the streets with people rushing around, traffic making you grind to a halt.

Her feet kick sand up like its dust in a construction site, steps quickening, balance shifting to accommodate for the movement of the ground beneath her as she starts running, for the lack of anything else to do.

Maybe give her a running partner? Or just question why someone's doing their workout in a hoodie, boots and black skinny jeans. That too.

( or come at me with anything else. there's a lovely, very inviting (what sarcasm) okcuddle post here for chat shenanigans or hit up my plurk at [plurk.com profile] forethought. )
