Come on too strongly? Her strong will is what interested him in the first place. Coming on strongly now is not a black mark against her. "I just saw you right before I arrived here." So there's no need to fear that anything has changed on his part. His feelings on any of it haven't changed.

He takes her hand and presses his lips to her palm. "More time, that was what I wanted. And it's what I got. What we got."

At the feel of his lips, Diana closes her eyes and just savors it for a moment. So much of her life after him has been about reserving herself and keeping herself closed away so she cannot be hurt again. It only takes a few moments with Steve to break down that wall.

"It's just been so long for me. It feels like a dream or something - nothing that feels real."

His other hand brushes her cheek, like the night in Veld, only now it's for reassurance as much as anything else. For him as much as for her. "It's not a dream. We're both here."

Diana can't help but smile at that. If it is a dream, it's a good dream, and she's glad she doesn't have to wake up for it.

She'd made a wish to come to Cadelle and that wish hadn't had anything to do with Steve Trevor. Still, in spite of that, Diana feels like she's had a wish fulfilled all the same.

"Then we need to work on making up for lost time."

"That's a lot of making up." It's not like he minds that. He doesn't have anywhere else he has to be right now. And, well, getting this time with her was his wish, and he intends to cash in on it.

He knows just how to start, too. "I love you."

"I love you, too."

It's something Diana hasn't said since she put the feelings she had for Steve Trevor deep down inside her but now that he's here again, the feelings well up in her again and she loves him as much as she had in 1918.

"I missed you so much. So, so much. It's almost impossible to describe."

He hadn't given her the time to say it before -- purposely -- but it means so much to him to hear it now. He hadn't expected this in his life, and how cruel was it that it had come at such a time? But he doesn't regret his decision in the least. All those lives saved are worth it.

She's not the only one having trouble describing what she wants to say. Steve has no words either for what he's feeling right now. So instead he'll just kiss her, in a way he never got to before but hopes he will have many chances for in the future.

Diana hasn't really ever liked kisses as much as she likes the ones from Steve. She's been with others and tried to move on but she simply can't - not when everyone gets compared to Steve Trevor.

That's why it's just as well that he's here and she's kissing him now, arms wrapped around his neck and mouth parted beneath his. It's been too long and she just wants to savor it.

And then Diana's kissing him and he no longer cares that they're in a place that is technically public, where anyone could walk in on them. Let them walk in and see. Diana is here with him, and his life is complete in a way he never imagined. There's barely a gap in their time together for him, but he knows it's different for her, and he will let her choose how to make up for lost time.

Diana breaks the kiss reluctantly, her hands coming up to touch Steve's face and to pet him so she can reacquaint herself with everything she's missed over the past several decades.

"I never forgot you. Not even once, Steve."

"I wouldn't blame you if you had." He knows how the night back home will end, and how long it's been for her since that night. If she can't have a life with him, she may as well have one with someone else. "But I'm glad you didn't."

"I tried, if only because I missed you so much and I was so lonely. It didn't work. There's no one in the world that's quite like you."

Diana is glad she has him again and can prove to herself that this was worth the wait. She's glad nobody else touched her heart in quite the same way because this, while it feels good, had been unbearable to lose.

"There's definitely no one like you either." Chances are higher that one day someone like him might exist than that someone like Diana might, but he knows what she means. "I guess together that makes us one hell of a pair."

"It does. And I'm not letting you out of my sight until I get used to having you here," Diana says.

It's a threat, possibly, but she doesn't care. Nobody has ever understood her quite the way Steve does and she doesn't want him going anywhere. "You'll come stay with me for a while, won't you?"

It's...not really a threat. He's not in a hurry to get to any specific place here in the city. Spending a few days with Diana is exactly the kind of thing he would like to do right now. "Sure. There's nothing I'd rather do."

"Good. I haven't ever lived with anyone - at least not since I was still on Themyscira. It will be a new experience," Diana says.

"I will have to learn how to share. Do you think I can manage that?"

"I don't know about that." He can share though. It's a big part of military life, after all. In recent years he has had quarters to himself most of the time, but it wasn't always possible. "I'll help you figure it out."

Diana laughs a little and brushes her hand against his cheek. In all these years, she's never forgotten how he looks and seeing him again just refreshes all of those memories for her. It's almost too poignant to bear.

"You'll just have to teach me how to share."

"I think I can do that." It means he's sharing it with her, and that's not a gift horse he's going to look in the mouth. "Even if you are really bad at listening." It's said fondly though. If she had listened to him, everything would be a lot different for all of them.

Diana laughs and shakes her head. "I can't help it that you're bad at giving directions, Steve Trevor."

She knows what she's capable of and she's not going to let any man stop her - not even one she loves.

"I am not bad at giving directions." He's a captain in the Army, Diana. You don't get to be one of those if you're bad at giving directions. "You are just bad at listening, and there's nothing I can do about that." He's learned not to try. It saves them both frustration in the end. And he wouldn't have it any other way, either.

"I think you like arguing more than you like giving good directions," Diana says, trying to push the ball back into his court. It's always like this with them, a dance, and she's never felt this way with anyone else. He makes her feel more alive than any other person in the world.

"Is that it? You like arguing with me?"

"Maybe I do." He wouldn't admit it to anyone but Diana though. Since she figured it out and all. "Is that going to be a problem?"

"Well, Steve Trevor, let me tell you a secret," Diana says. She leans in a little, whispering against his ear. "I like arguing with you too."

He groans in mock despair. "I'm doomed." But he doesn't really mean it. She would be a lot less interesting if she just did what was expected of her. He wouldn't have it any other way.

"You just have to accept it and move on with your life," Diana says, laughing throatily. "How are you going to celebrate your downward spiral?"

"I don't know, but since I'm doomed anyway, I might as well celebrate it with you." Like that's not what he's wanted all along or anything.

"Here's to being doomed," Diana says, leaning in to kiss him again. This time it's deeper, more passionate, and Diana is fine to be completely done with talking. She hasn't seen him in longer than she knew him (much, much longer than she knew him) and she misses him. She needs to rekindle this relationship.

If this is what being doomed feels like, then he'll gladly resign himself to a life of being doomed. He won't even focus on the fact that they're in a public if hard-to-find place, and someone else could show up. They're both here, and between the two of them the only clothing they have on right now is what he wore to come here. (He wasn't going to be giving anyone a view in this hot spring.) All those concerns are at the back of his mind right now. He's not letting anything take away from this time with Diana. Not now that he's got it.

He reaches one arm over to loop around her waist and tug her into his lap.

Diana feels her pulse go higher and higher, almost as if she's dropping off a steep cliff. There's the thrill of possibly being discovered in these hot springs and that only adds fuel to this particular fire.

She rolls her hips against him and dips her head down, kissing against his neck and shoulder.

He can feel her pulse quicken, and his does the same in response. This is more than he ever expected would happen to him in his life.

One hand rests on her thigh while the other one weaves through her hair.

"Steve," she exhales softly, not sure what part of him to touch first. Diana feels spoiled for choice for the first time in her life and she remembers the first time they were ever together and how much care he took with her.

"Be careful with me. It's not been very long for you but it's been a whole lifetime for me, remember?"

"I remember." He didn't want to hurt her then, and he doesn't want to now. Nothing will happen until she's comfortable with it. They've got time now, after all.

His hands move to her waist, then slowly move to rest on her stomach and sides.

Diana rolls her hips against him, wanting to feel him hard and solid beneath her. It's just kissing right now but it could be so much more with just a shift one inch either way. It feels like being a little dangerous and she likes it.

"I'll be careful with you too," she promises.

It won't take long for him to be hard, partly because it is a little dangerous, and partly because Diana's sitting in his lap. It will take even less time if she keeps moving like that.

"Good. I'd like to remain in one piece."

Meanwhile his hands move higher on her body.

"I like you in one piece. Makes it easier for me," Diana teases, her voice soft and low and her laugh even lower. She rocks up against him again before capturing his mouth in another kiss, this one a little more aggressive than before. Her teeth tug at his lower lip and her hands are wandering along every inch of bare skin she can find.

"I like me in one piece too," he manages to get out before his breath catches and he finds it hard to talk at all, what with her hands on him, and, well, the rest of her too. His hands finally make their way to her breasts, which he cups lightly.

It's been such a long time but Diana still remembers how this feels and the touch of Steve's hands on her breasts bring her right back to 1918. She tips her head back a bit and pushes them into his hands, her own cupping his shoulders lightly.

"You haven't forgotten anything."

"It was only a few nights ago for me." His time with Diana has continued with barely a gap in it, while hers with him leaves a lot of making up to do.

He's just going to leave his hands right there for awhile. He likes them there.

Diana wants to weep at being able to be held by Steve after all these years and it doesn't take much to shift her body so she can take him inside her instead of just rubbing against him for friction.

"Move with me?"

"Yes," although he doesn't need to say it, it's going to happen naturally anyway as they fit together. He moves his hands to wrap an arm around her waist and pull her tighter against him, and the other hand presses firmly against her back to hold her there.

Diana buries her face against his neck and moves her hips, savoring just having him back after so long. It's painfully slow and sweet. She has wanted this for longer than she can remember and being in this place again with him is so much like a dream.

"Promise me that you won't leave me? Not again?"

Right now, in this moment, he'd promise her anything she asked for. (Although he would do that anyway.) And this is an easy promise to make; he has no intention of leaving. Not when this is their chance.

"I'm not going anywhere."

Diana squeezes around him and slides her hands up and around his neck, trying to press against him in every way that she can manage. She knows this particular moment cannot last forever but she wants it to. She wants it to last as long as possible so if he disappears, she has this to remember for the next century.

"Don't leave me again," she says, reiterating the point. "Stay right here with me for this. Just us, just this."

He grips her tighter, not because he thinks she's going to go anywhere but because he doesn't want to let go. He's not just making sure he gets what he wants, but that she gets what she wants too. He didn't think he would get this chance again, and he's going to take full advantage of it while he does.

"This is all I want." He's not going anywhere.

Diana wants to answer but her voice comes out in short, sharp little gasps instead. She's close and she digs her fingers into his shoulders as she moves a little faster, presses her cheek to his.

"Help me? Please?"

He doesn't have to be asked twice. He wants the same thing, and it's so close, and there's an easy way to get it now. Just a little bit more, whatever it takes, he'll follow her lead until they both get the satisfaction they want.
