Gamora | MCU | OTA

CHARACTERS: Gamora & YOU!
LOCATIONS: best friends rescue, b-sides, shooting range, good times, etc
WARNINGS: none yet
SUMMARY: catch-all for gamora and anyone that wants to meet/speak to her

Gamora was becoming more comfortable with life in Cadelle even if not everyone was particularly comfortable with her. She was still the only one that she was aware of that didn't look immediately Terran and was clearly from somewhere else. It's why she valued the friendships she had.

And the dog that Baby kept at B-Sides just had her thinking more and more about getting her own pet. For a couple of weeks she was one of those annoying people that kept visiting Best Friends Rescue and looking like she wanted to adopt a pet of some variety, but never quite able to decide what. A dog reminded her of Quill (it was a compliment, wasn't it?). A cat seemed more independent like her. They didn't offer up raccoons like Rocket, or little baby trees like Groot. Nothing was like Drax. Not that she should have been trying to recreate her crew with animals.

She had finally discovered the gun range as well, though the guns here seemed primitive compared to the weapons she was used to wielding. It also seemed safer to practice under a controlled environment rather than her apartment or anywhere else.

And then there were nights when sitting around reading up on Earth's history wasn't going to cut it, and she ventured out to the pubs and clubs, but her personal favourite was Good Times where they played the music she had decided was her favourite - nothing new, all the classics - and she could disguise her like of dancing by wearing roller skates and getting as lost in a crowd as a green-skinned alien could.

I like my odds. [he says as he shifts his stance, fishing through his pockets until he procures a 100 cuddlebuck note. he lays the crumpled bill out on the counter carefully, smoothing it out as he does.]

A hundred to the winner. You can pick what kind of a game we're playing. Fair?

'cause I'm a gambling man?

[though this particular kind of bet wasn't the usual. normally it'd be 'i bet you can't break into this place without tripping an alarm' or 'bet you can't drink more than i can,' but maybe a game of speed and hand/eye coordination would be fun. the skills were still the same.]

Works for me. Though, I really wish they'd have let me use my gun. You know? Some things you just get used to...

Rocket? What the fuck kind of name is Rocket?

[quill. rocket. mick assumes that these unusual names must be some kind of alter ego in the same vein as "heatwave" or "captain cold" or "the flash" because they're just so different that they can't possibly be real. more intriguing than the names though, is the idea that there might be someone he'd get on with and the kind person that might entail.]

And is he someone with an appreciation for things that go boom? If so, where can I find him?

[he glances back at her target before zeroing in on her smirk. it's not boastful, or overly confident, but mick gets the feeling that not an accident that she's managed a good grouping on her shots.]

Am I supposed to believe that that [he tips his head behind them toward the bullet-ridden paper] is beginner's luck?

Pity.

[it's a genuine sentiment that passes through mick's lips. he's honestly sad to hear that some guy name rocket who can tinker and build weapons isn't here for him to compare notes and cause a little mayhem with. cadelle could definitely stand to use something more exciting than earthquakes and flooding.]

More than some practice. [he grumbles. her words aren't the words of someone who isn't well versed in weaponry. and by the sound of things, the company she keeps is apparently pretty adept too. he rolls his shoulders and regards his handgun. narrowing his eyes at the targets in front, he raises the gun and takes careful aim.]

So what are we waiting for? I'm not getting any younger, Gumby.
