Her eyes widen a bit when he says her name because after how terribly things went with Scott, she hadn't gotten her hopes up. But if Derek can identify her by name, maybe she's at least not a coyote anymore the last time he saw her.

(She doesn't know how much Derek knew and when he knew it, just one day he started stalking her at school, so who really knows. Technically they met when he was a teenager. Their lives are way too weird.)
