I hope so! ( as far as the events are concerned, anyway. she's not particularly attached to the black tie nature of this event specifically, but a party is always a nice opportunity to spend time with people, and it seems like most of the city is having a good time. having more parties like this would just be opportunity to do more of the same, right? ) Maybe not quite as fussy of a dress code, but this is fun, isn't it?

( kara's not a very good dancer herself. she's definitely not trained or anything close to it, but she's gotten a few pointers here and there from her former socialite boyfriend and his recently arrived little sister. superhuman reflexes certainly help, too, when it comes to avoiding stepping on anyone's toes.

observing the dancers around them gives her a decent idea of what sorts of things are expected. dips and twirls are loosely done, nothing too formal or practiced, but his feather-light touch around her waist makes anything beyond gentle swaying unlikely. a soft nudge with her own hands is meant to encourage, accompanied and reinforced by her own bright smile as they move about the floor. )
