Times were harsher then. Nowadays, there's a stigma around alcoholism. We live in a culture of health, and anything unhealthy is terrible.

[ Shrugging, she licks her lips, tasting the alcohol on them. ]

I don't mind some drinking. Obviously I can't condone drinking until you pass out... it's no way to live, really.
