Derek has a job — one where he's literally paid to forcibly remove people every now and again, at that — so he really only wanders into the job fair for something to do to pass the time before his shift starts later in the evening. Speed networking isn't something he's ever heard of, but it certainly sounds less intimidating and annoying than speed dating, and Derek hasn't been very good at making friends in a very long time, so he figures it's worth a shot, if nothing else.

The name tag slapped on his chest — Hello, my name is Derek, but you can call me Sourwolf. — is not a great start to the thing, that much is for sure. Though, he's been here long enough to feel a little more comfortable with the idea of being outed for what he is. If he's going to be hunted here of all places, then he's literally safe nowhere and he might as well just give up and let nature take its course, anyway, right?

Still, he figures it's worth a try to meet new people, whether eventually to move onto something more career-friendly than a bouncer at Criminales, or just to try to make friends. The name tag is obnoxious and suspicious, but it could be worse. It could be a lot worse.
