Nodding, Derek smiles. "Right, exactly," he says. He doesn't really know the full breadth of "leader of her house" by Sansa's standards, whether she means something from home or just the fact that she's the leader of her small pack of two here in Cadelle, but either still brings the same answer: yes, she understands what he's saying.
"Yeah, sort of, but also...my mother was the Alpha of our pack and she was training my sister for when she would be Alpha someday. I wish I'd paid more attention, since now they're both dead and I'm sort of on my own, but...you know. I don't know, my mom sort of ran her pack like a well-oiled machine. It's hard not to pick up on the hierarchy and all of that when you're that close to it, you know what I mean?"
